Como ya todos sabemos Iron Maiden esta nuevamente de gira por esta parte del mundo. Asi que para festejarlo, la primera entrega de este bloog sera referente a esta gran banda.
BIOGRAFIA
Iron Maiden se formó la Navidad de 1975 por Steve Harris, quien contrató a los guitarristas Dave Sullivan y Terry Rance, al baterísta Ron Matthews, y al vocalista Paul Day. Day al carecer de presencia escénica, fue rápidamente sustituido por Dennis Wilcock. Rance y Sullivan fueron despedidos y sustituidos por Dave Murray y Bob Angelo que fue despedido a fines de 1976. Se incorporó a Mantis.
Dave Murray salió en la primavera de 1977 y fue reemplazado por Terry Wapram en guitarras. Ron Matthews también fue sustituido por Barry Graham alias Thunderstick. Por último, el teclista Tony Moore fue incorporado. Esta alineación duró una tocata. Tony y Terry fueron despedidos. Dave Murray regresó, y Dennis Wilcock se fue con Thunderstick. Dennis formado la banda V1 con Terry y Tony, mientras que Thunderstick aparecio en Samson un poco más tarde.
Decididos a continuar, Steve y Dave invitaron al baterista Doug Sampson, y el vocalista Paul Di'Anno, a mediados de 1977. Esta alineación, grabó el primer demo, The Soundhouse Tapes, el 31 de Diciembre de 1978. Paul Cairns toco las guitarras, alrededor de tres meses antes de salir por su propia voluntad. Paul Todd toco algunos conciertos.
Tony Parsons llegó a principios de septiembre de 1979 a tocar las guitarras con Dave (la grabación del primer LP comenso a partir del 10 de septiembre de 1979 y duró hasta casi hasta el final de año), Tony abandono la banda debido a su infelicidad al ser rodeado por los músicos más talentosos. Fue sustituido por Dennis Stratton. En enero de 1980, Doug Sampson cayó enfermo y Clive Burr llegó en su lugar y el primer álbum fue grabado.
Dennis Stratton salio de la banda, en octubre de 1980, y fue sustituido por Adrian Smith (Urchin) en septiembre de 1980. Paul Di'Anno tenia problemas con el alcohol y fue detenido antes de un show, lo que obligó a Steve Harris a hacerse cargo de la voz (el 8 de febrero de 1980), y, por lo tanto, fue sustituido por Bruce Bruce (Samson Reino Unido), nombre que no volvio a ocupar sustituyendolo por Bruce Dickinson. (Su nombre completo es Paul Bruce Dickinson, pero la banda estaba harta de cantantes llamado Paul) La primer tocada con Bruce fue 25 de octubre de 1981, en Italia.
Clive Burr abandonó el grupo a finales de 1982, en buenos términos, ya que quería un descanso en el mundo de la música y todas las giras. Él se dedico a diversos proyectos a lo largo de los años. En su lugar llego Nicko McBrain. Esta alineacion estubo junta hasta enero de 1990, cuando Adrian Smith fue sustituido por Janick Gers.
Bruce Dickinson dejó la banda en 1993, con el deseo de concentrarse en su carrera como solista. Blaze Bayley (Reino Unido) (nombre real: Bayley Cook, Blaze es un apodo de la escuela de Wolfsbane) se hizo cargo de la voz para dos álbumes.
Bruce Dickinson y Adrian Smith regresaron en 1999, para la gira, Ed Hunter. La gira fue un éxito de la banda y grabaron el álbum, Brave New World, y el allbum en vivo Rock in Rio. Blaze formo su proyecto en solitario, Blaze (Reino Unido).
La banda actualmeten esta preparando su gira " Somewhere back in time " donde interpretaran viejos exitos, teniendo presentaciones en algunas partes de latinoamerica como, Mexico, Argentina, Costa, Rica, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Chile y Brasil.
